Hello
My name is Rike (pron. “Reeka”) Hendrickson. I am an Advanced Master’s Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (MFTI). As such, my aim is to support you as you strive to improve your relationships, mental health, and personal well-being.
My Story
Through various personal experiences, I’ve come to understand firsthand the beauty and intricacies of family life and the challenges we may face in our own mental health, as well as in our interactions with others. Life can get very complex. Sometimes we are so stuck in our problems that we need to seek outside support as we work towards our best hopes and goals.
I realize that coming to therapy takes courage and an openness to be vulnerable with a stranger. On the flipside it also demonstrates resourcefulness and commitment to improving challenging circumstances. I commend you taking this step and am honored to walk alongside you on this journey.
It is my goal to honor the trust you bestow in me as your therapist, by uniquely tailoring therapy to your specific circumstances and needs. I utilize evidence-based techniques and tools that enable us to build solutions in a collaborative way. Together, we will work to increase your capacity for change, identify strengths, resources and abilities, celebrate successes, and increase resilience.
My therapy approach is rooted in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and branches out through the integration of tools and techniques from other therapy modalities such as Play therapy, Art therapy, Intergenerational therapy, Trauma-informed care, Collaborative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Systems theory, etc.
I offer therapy services for
-

I am especially passionate about supporting individuals, couples and families with life-stage transition challenges (prenatal/infancy, childhood and school, puberty and adolescence, adulthood, and aging). I also work with mental health challenges (e.g. Depression, Anxiety, PTSD and Trauma, etc.), provide grief counseling, relational communication issues, professional and life skill coaching, and more.
When I am not working with clients or spending time with my husband and 5 children, you’ll likely find me tending to our small-scale "zoo" (complete with goats, chickens, bees, a dog, cat and a garden), adventuring in nature, reading, involved with music, or traveling.
I speak English and German fluently.
