What is solution focused therapy?Solution focused therapy is a type of counseling that focuses on creating solutions, rather than analyzing the problem itself. In this approach, the counselor and the client work together to identify and amplify the client's strengths and resources to achieve their goals. Solution focused therapy is based on the premise that clients have the capacity to solve their own problems and that they can harness their own strengths and resources to create positive change in their lives. This therapy is often brief and goal-oriented, and it can be effective in treating a wide range of issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship problems, and addiction.

Who can go to therapy?Therapy is available to families, children, and adults, who want to improve their relationships, mental health, and emotional well-being. It is not limited to those who have a specific mental health diagnosis or condition. If you are experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, or simply want to work on personal growth and development, therapy can be a helpful resource.

Can you tell me more about your therapists? We have therapists that are licensed, long time practitioners, and newer practitioners under supervision. A benefit to working with our student and associate therapists is the close collaboration and supervision they experience as they learn. Each therapist on our website has a profile link to learn more about them.

How much does therapy cost? One way many people pay for therapy is through insurance. Our providers accept a variety of insurances, but each one accepts different insurances. It is best to call your insurance company to determine your benefits. You can also always give us a call and we can also see if your insurance will be accepted. If you don't have insurance, our therapists do accept payment out of pocket. Please call for more information if you are interested in paying out of pocket.

How long does therapy take? The duration of therapy depends on the individual's needs and goals. Some clients may only require a few sessions to address a specific issue, while others may benefit from long-term therapy. It is important to note that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all approach and the length of therapy will vary from person to person. Your therapist will work with you to determine the appropriate length of therapy based on your individual needs and progress. It is always important to communicate with your therapist about any concerns or questions you may have regarding the duration of therapy.

What are the benefits to therapy?Solution focused therapy is a goal-oriented and future-focused approach that helps individuals identify and achieve their desired outcomes. Some of the benefits to this type of therapy include: 1. Rapid results: Solution focused therapy is often a short-term approach, which means that individuals can see results in a shorter amount of time than other types of therapy. 2. Increased self-awareness: Individuals can gain a greater understanding of their strengths, values, and priorities, which can help them make more informed decisions in their lives. 3. Improved relationships: By focusing on solutions rather than problems, clients are often able to improve their communication skills and build stronger, more supportive relationships. 4. Greater resilience: Solution focused therapy emphasizes the importance of building resilience, identifying strengths, coping strategies, and creating a plan for next steps. Therapy can help individuals navigate challenges, traumas, and setbacks with greater ease. If you have any further questions about solution focused therapy, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

How can play therapy help my child?Play therapy is a therapeutic approach that focuses on helping children and their families identify solutions to problems in a playful and non-threatening way. Through play, children are able to express their emotions and feelings in a safe and supportive environment. This approach encourages children to focus on their strengths and resources and to build solutions, rather than dwelling on their difficulties. Solution focused play therapy can be beneficial for children who are struggling with a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral problems, and social difficulties. By empowering children to find their own solutions, they can develop a sense of control over their lives and build resilience. The therapist may use a variety of toys, games, and activities to facilitate the child's exploration and expression. The therapist may also provide guidance and support as the child navigates difficult emotions and experiences. Play therapy can also improve their relationships with others and enhance their overall well-being. If you have concerns about your child's emotional or psychological health, play therapy may be a helpful option to consider.
